Women's Basketball Takes Back to Back Regional Championships
The Lady Warriors are heading back to Minneapolis for the NCCAA DII Women's Basketball National Tournament after defeating Manhattan Christian College in the regional championship 57-55. In an incredibly close and hard fought match up, the Warriors defeated the Thunder in the championship matchup that we hosted in our home gym. Junior Katie Williams led the team with 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Tyonna Garcia, a sophomore, made additional impact with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block; followed closely by Ruthie Dougherty with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. The team celebrated with a net cutting ceremony after they received their regional championship banner.
The Warriors will be the #6 seed heading into the national tournament and will take on fellow conference member Ozark Christian College in the first round. We are excited to see the team represent our school back to back at this event!
