KANSAS CITY, MO – September 16, 2017 – In their first tri-match of the season, the Calvary Women’s Volleyball team (4-1, 0-0 MCCC) split their games with Oak Hills Christian College and Dallas Christian College, defeating Oak Hills 3-0, but falling to Dallas 3-1.
Coming off a three-game win streak where they had lost only one set, the Lady Warriors were still picking up steam and hoping to continue their streak. In their first match against Oak Hills, the Lady Warriors could not be stopped, winning in three sets: 25-13, 25-17, 25-6. As a team, Calvary hit an impressive .293, totaled 32 kills, 7 ace serves, 30 assists, and 60 digs.
The Lady Warriors hot streak, unfortunately was stifled in their loss to Dallas Christian College, though it was not easy, stretching the game out to four sets: 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21. Statistically, both teams were nearly even in every category, with the Lady Crusaders fewer errors being the difference in the game. Calvary hit a meager .111, yet had 42 kills, 34 assists, and 64 digs, leading Dallas in all of these categories.
The Lady Warriors next match will be in Joplin, MO on Tuesday, September 19 against conference opponent Ozark Christian College. The 0-8 Lady Ambassadors lost to Oak Hills 3-1 on September 2, and Dallas Christian 3-0 on September 15.
