As Warriors for Christ, Calvary University believes, “whatever [we] do, [we] do it all for the glory of God” (1 Cor 10:31). Calvary athletics’ focus is not only on the game, but also on the process and growth that occurs off the court and field. This requires that the same excellence, commitment, work ethic, and endurance required in practices and games be displayed in every aspect of the players’ lives, especially the classroom. Calvary University’s athletes demonstrated their exemplary dedication to their academics this Fall at the national level in comparison to the 29 other NCCAA Division II institutions.
Seniors Toyosi Ishola, Jordan McFarland, Tasha Krahn, CJ Lewallen, Alyssa Splitter, and Paige Specht received the Academic All-American Award for 2017. These six seniors placed Calvary as third, out of the 29 NCCAA institutions with the most Academic All-American Award recipients per institution. Their Christ-honoring dedication to excellence is notable on and off the court and field. To God be the glory!
