Rhema Eagles Fly Past Warriors

STATS / INTERVIEW

KANSAS CITY, MO – December 8, 2017 – The young Calvary men’s basketball team couldn’t stop Rhema Bible College from running away with a victory in their non-conference matchup Friday night, losing the game 106-66.

The Warriors allowed the Eagles to gain the lead early in the game and was never able to score enough to match Rhema’s high-powered offense. Down 61-35 at the half, the Warriors were able to hold the Eagles to 45 points in the second half, but their own 31 points weren’t nearly enough to make up the deficit of the first 20 minutes

The main issue with the Warriors was on defense, allowing Rhema to shoot 57% from the floor in their 106-point clinic. 42 of the Eagle’s points came from turnovers and offensive rebounds alone. The Warriors played close to what they have been averaging all season, shooting around 38% from the floor and 73% from the foul line. Tyquan Hailey, Jay Lems, and Braydon Unruh each scored in double figures, earning 11, 12, and 14 points respectively.

The Warriors will hit the floor again on Saturday, December 9 with an Exhibition game at William Jewell College, before they head to Georgia for the Truett-McConnell Classic at Truett McConnell University on December 15 and 16.
