We played well as a team,” Warrior Head Coach Jojo Wilkes said, “We were able to win quickly in three which was positive with the long drive home and a two game Saturday in front of us. Nesbett Tucker did a great job leading the offense since Nipple wasn’t feeling 100%. Davis was player of the game with 6 aces from the service line. Grady also led the front row in hits and blocks, having a remarkable game.” The team played steadily up to par easily securing a win in three. In past years, Calvary has struggled playing against Barclay with their tough home court advantage.

Early Saturday morning, the Warriors faced off against Cottey College. “Overall we played well against Cottey, sticking with them point for point till around 17-18 points,” Warrior Head Coach Jojo Wilkes said. “Cottey had a couple of runs that made it difficult to stop, and they capitalized on a few holes in our defense. We learned a lot from playing a higher level team.”

After playing Cottey College, the Warriors faced off against Sterling College. “The most positive thing about the match was with each set, the team continued to improve and didn’t give up,” Warrior Head Coach Jojo said. “The first set, we were taken off guard with Sterling’s strong and effective offense. Our backrow showed a lot of resilience given Sterling’s strong offense. Edwards led the back row in digs from Sterling’s super charged hits. McCubbin followed suit digging up a lot of tips. Warrior defense got stronger with each game which allowed the team to be more successful.”
