Calvary University head Women’s Basketball coach Tressa Shoemaker, is excited to announce her first signee for the 2018-19 season as Anna Davis, a 5’7″ forward from Derby, Kansas
During Davis’ stint with the Derby Invasion, she racked up 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game. In addition to basketball, Davis also played softball during her high school career.
In 2014-15, and again in 2017-18, Anna received KCAA All-Tournament honors, as well as Shea All-Tournament in 2017, and Smokey Valley All-Tournament awards in 2018. She was instrumental in helping her team to many first and second place finishes between 2016 and 2018.
Davis will be studying Linguistics while at Calvary and desires to glorify God in whatever she does. She chose Calvary because she knew that God wanted her here.
“I am looking forward to bringing Anna to our squad this fall,” said Coach Shoemaker. “I have been watching her play for her team the past couple of years and have really enjoyed her positive competitive spirit that she brings on the court. She is very coachable and is hungry to learn more. She is a versatile player who can play the post but also handle and shoot from the perimeter as well. Anna’s enthusiasm and her selfless attitude to put team first will continue our programs unified strength. Her character and hunger to increase in knowledge of who God is and how to minister to others, will only increase our continued desire to help others in the community through the sport of basketball.”
Anna is the daughter of David and Staci Davis.
