After dropping the first set to Faith Baptist Bible College, the Lady Warriors were unstoppable in the next three sets to defeat the Eagles 3-1. “Going into the game we knew that Faith was a very strong defensive team,” said Coach Ashley Spicer.” We knew that the key to the game was going in with an aggressive mindset.” The Eagles came out strong, at the start of the game. Although the Lady Warriors were able to match the intensity of the Eagles, they dropped the first set 27-25.
The Warriors responded to the Eagles in the next three sets with much more intensity. The Eagles were unable to find the answer to the Warriors aggression, and as a result, the Warriors took the next three sets 25-18, 25-21, and 25-22. “We started taking risks offensively in those last three sets,” Coach Spicer said. “They refused to give up, and that’s what made the difference when Faith would start to pull ahead.” Jenny Her proved to be a difference maker from the back row with excellent passing. Leah Grady led the team in hitting, with Anna Holloway, Esther Schwarze, and Bailey Faulconer adding huge contributions to the Warriors hitting percentage. “And of course we couldn’t have done it without Tori, leading us in assists. I’m really proud of every single girl on this team, it took each and every girl to pull out the win tonight.” Said Coach Spicer.
The Warriors will next play at home for the first time of the season this Tuesday against Kansas Christian College.
