Lady Warriors Fall in Third Place Matchup of MCCC Tournament

Manhattan , Kan.

After an exciting tournament, the Lady Warriors fell to Barclay College in the third place game of the MCCC Tournament. The women's team is now excited to face the Bears again in the first round of regional play this next week, looking to secure a win against them after this MCCC defeat.

On Thursday of the tournament, the women faced the host team, the Manhattan Thunder in the #4-#5 quarterfinal matchup. The Warriors played a tough first half, with Manhattan taking the lead in a close score of 16-19. Calvary answered back the second half in a close back and forth game, with a final score of 48-43. With this win, the Warriors advanced to the semifinal round.

On Friday, the Warriors faced a tough Ozark Christian College in the semifinals. Ozark, ranked #4 in the nation, quickly jumped out in the first half, with the score being 13-30. The Ambassadors stayed in control of the game throughout the second half, with a final score of 37-58. This loss pushed the Warriors into the third place matchup.

The Warriors took on the Barclay Bears on Saturday to try to earn third place. The Warriors took the first half with ease, with the score 30-14 at the half. Barclay came back ready to play the second half, and the Bears took the second half, finishing with a close win over the Warriors 53-57.

The Lady Warriors are back on the court Wednesday in the first round of the NCCAA DII Regional Tournament, taking on the same opponent as the third place matchup -- the Barclay Bears. The Warriors are ready for a win after securing the first seed in the regional tournament!
